Monsoon Rain: Incessant rains have thrown life out of gear in different parts of the country. Heavy rains in North India have brought a deluge-like situation. The country’s capital Delhi, western Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana are in bad condition due to rain. Many areas are submerged due to floods and people are being shifted from their homes to other places.
According to the data, till Tuesday (July 11), 188 districts of 18 states of the country are in the grip of rain and floods, and life and property have been badly damaged. 574 people have died in rain related incidents. While 16 people have been reported missing. 497 people are injured. 8644 cattle have also died due to rain. 8815 houses have been damaged, while 47,225 hectares of crops have been destroyed.
Creepy scene in Himachal Pradesh
The rains have wreaked havoc in Himachal Pradesh. 12 districts of the hill state are affected by the rains and floods. A total of 95 people have died so far due to rain in Himachal Pradesh. 2 people are missing, while 99 people are injured. 76 houses have been completely destroyed, while part of 319 houses have been damaged. 471 animals have also died.
15 killed in Punjab-Haryana
Many areas in Punjab and Haryana are still under water. The death toll in rain-related incidents has risen to 15. According to news agency PTI, six more deaths were reported on Tuesday due to rain-related incidents, with which the total death toll in the last three days has risen to 15. Eight deaths occurred in Punjab, while seven people lost their lives in Haryana. Rescue operations are on in both the states.
Yamuna crosses danger level in Delhi
The water level of Yamuna river in Delhi is continuously increasing. On Tuesday, at 8 am, the water level of the river was recorded at 207.25 meters at the Old Railway Bridge. The highest flood level of Yamuna is close to 207.49 metres. Due to the increase in the water level of Yamuna, water got filled inside the houses in many areas, due to which people have started evacuating the houses and shifting to other places.
