You may encounter fake Amazon domains. Cyber security firm has discovered 1,500 new Amazon related domains. It is worth noting that most of these domains are made to deceive users into thinking that they are visiting the valid Amazon website (Amazon Prime Day sale 2023). Fraudsters mimic the official Amazon website to trick users into providing personal or financial information. So to avoid this check the URL in the address bar. Stay away from unknown domains and make sure you are visiting official website.
Scam email and text message flurry
Amazon has also asked users to be alert about scam emails and text messages during the sale (Amazon Prime Day). These messages can range from shipping information, order confirmation or account issues. The purpose of such fake text messages or links is to trick users into clicking on malicious links or providing sensitive information. So shop wisely and cautiously during this Amazon sale.
