PM Modi Interview: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for his two-day visit to France. Just before this, PM Modi gave an interview to a leading French newspaper. In this interview given to France’s leading media group “Les Echoes”, PM Modi spoke on various issues and said that the rights of the Global South have been denied for a long time all over the world. He said, “I see India as a strong shoulder for the ‘Global South’.” During this interview, PM Modi told how India is moving fast towards becoming a developed country by 2047.
Advocating for permanent membership in UNSC
Prime Minister Narendra Modi Will be the chief guest of the Bastille Day celebrations in Paris on July 14. Earlier, in an interview to the French newspaper Les Echos, he emphasized India’s role as a bridge between Western countries and the Global South. PM Modi said, “The rights of the Global South have been denied for a long time, that is why its pain is visible in these countries.” After this, referring to India, PM Modi said that India is now the most It is a highly populated country, so it needs to regain its rightful place.
In this interview given to the French media, PM Modi also advocated India’s permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council. PM Modi said, “How can the United Nations Security Council claim to talk about the world, when the world’s most populous country is not its permanent member.”
Talking about India’s economy, the Prime Minister said, since 2014, initiated major economic reforms with the aim of turning India into a developed economy by 2047, the 100th anniversary of our independence. India is now the fifth largest economy in the world and is on its way to become the third largest economy soon.
Mention of India’s soft power
PM Modi also mentioned India’s soft power during this interview. He said that “philosophies from every corner of the world should be considered and the world develops rapidly only when it learns to let go of old notions”. And referring to the worldwide success of Yoga Yoga, he said that all this shows the “soft power” of India.
During this interview with PM Modi, when asked that India has become the most populous country in the world, how does its position change at the global level? To this he replied,
India is a rich civilization which is thousands of years old. Today India is the youngest country in the world. India’s strongest asset is our youth, at a time when many countries of the world are aging and their populations are shrinking, India’s young and skilled workforce will be an asset to the world in the decades to come.
How America’s relations are getting stronger?
During the interview, PM Modi was also questioned on the strengthening relations between India and America. In response to which he said, it is true that Indo-US relations have been growing positively for a long time, but in the last nine years it has gained momentum and has reached a new level. Full cooperation is being received from both the countries for this. Be it the government, parliament, industry, academia or the people of both the countries… all are eager to take the relationship to a higher level. PM Modi said that in the last 9 years, I personally have had a good experience of American coordination with different governments.
PM Modi’s response to the danger on China’s front
Prime Minister Modi was also questioned about China. PM Modi was asked that China is continuously pouring money to increase its defense power, is there any security threat in the region? In response, PM Modi said, our interests in the Indo-Pacific region are broad and our engagement is deep. Peace is essential to the future we want to build. India has always stood for peaceful resolution of differences through dialogue and diplomacy and respect for the sovereignty of all countries, international law and the rules-based international order. Our goal is to advance peace and stability in the region.
Talk on the relationship between India and France
Talking on the relationship between India and France, PM Modi said that the strategic partnership of the two countries is one of the important partnerships affecting the Indo-Pacific region. We are two big powers in the Indian Ocean region. The purpose of our partnership is to advance a free, open, inclusive, secure and stable Indo Pacific region. We will also cooperate to support the security needs of other countries, including defense equipment. It includes the whole series of economic, connectivity, human development and stability. This will also attract other countries to make common efforts for peace. The European Union will also be involved in the partnership between India and France, which has its own Indo-Pacific strategy.
