News18 has quoted its exclusive document as saying that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has received an ultimatum from the Riyadh Airport Authority (RAA), along with which the authority has asked PIA (PIA) to pay the due amount of 8.2 million riyals. Has been given time till July 15. If the payment is not completed within the stipulated time, the Riyadh Airport Authority can affect the flights of Pakistan Airlines.
Jeddah airport has also given warning
Not only this, Jeddah airport has also warned PIA for non-payment of dues. A PIA spokesperson confirmed the issuance of the reminder by the Riyadh Airport Authority. During this, he said that the airline is actively working towards making the payment and resolving the issue immediately.
Malaysia has seized the plane
Significantly, earlier Malaysia had seized the Boeing 777 plane of Pakistan’s state airline PIA. Actually, even after saying several times in the lease dispute at Kuala Lumpur airport, Pakistan did not pay the money, after which the aircraft was seized.
Prime Minister has given clarification
In view of the plight of Pakistan International Airlines, the country’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that a high-level committee headed by the Finance Minister will work on the restructuring, reform and revival of PIA.
