Compared to May 2023, there has been a decrease of 5.5 percent in the number of passengers.

So many passengers traveled in May

According to the statistics of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, in May 2023, a total of 1.32 crore people traveled by domestic air. In such a situation, a month-on-month decline of 5.5 per cent has been registered in June. It is worth noting that before the Corona period, 1.20 crore people had done domestic air travel during this period. In such a situation, since the Corona period, an increase in the number of people traveling for medicines is being recorded continuously.

There was a sharp increase in the number of air passengers between January and June.

According to the report published in the Economic Times, between January and June, there has been a tremendous increase in the number of air passengers in the country. year 2023 In the first six months, 7.60 crore people have traveled by air. And last year, a total of 5.72 crore people traveled during this period. In such a situation, a huge increase of 32.92 percent has been registered in the number of people traveling by air in the first six months as compared to last year.

Know which airlines became number one?

Ever since the beginning of the GoFirst crisis in May, Indigo’s share in the domestic market has been increasing. Indigo Airlines’ market share has increased to 63.2 per cent in June. In such a situation, a total of 78.93 lakh passengers have taken the service of Indigo in June. At the same time, Air India is at number two in the domestic market. The company has a market share of 9.7 per cent in the domestic market. At the same time, Tata’s Vistara stake has seen a decrease of 0.9 per cent in June and it has reached 8.1 per cent. It is worth noting that Akasa Acre has captured 4.9 per cent share of the domestic market in June leaving SpiceJet behind.
