Yashasvi Jaiswal has become the Indian player to face the most balls in his debut test. Before Yashasvi, this record was in the name of former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin, who faced 322 balls in his debut test in the year 1984.

Yashasvi, who made his debut in the foreign series, has also broken the record of former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly in terms of scoring the most runs in his first innings. In the year 1996, Sourav Ganguly scored an inning of 131 runs while making his debut in the Lord’s Test match.

Made 5th highest score in debut match as an opener

Yashasvi Jaiswal has now become the 5th player in the history of Test cricket to score the highest score in a debut match. The first number in this list is Brendan Kuruppu, who scored an inning of 201 runs against New Zealand in the year 1987. After this, Devon Conway is at number two, who scored an inning of 200 runs against England at Lord’s in the year 2021.

Shikhar Dhawan is third in this list, who played an inning of 187 runs in his debut Test match against Australia in the year 2013 at Mohali ground. On the fourth place is former New Zealand team player Hamis Rutherford, who scored 171 against England in his debut Test in 2013.
