Patna, On July 13, the police lathi-charged the BJP workers at the Dakbungalow intersection in the capital Patna during the assembly march. Along with many workers, big leaders were also injured. BJP leader Vijay Singh, a resident of Jehanabad, also died. BJP says that death has happened due to lathicharge and police has denied this. Amidst all this, on Saturday (15th July), RJD MP Manoj Jha attacked fiercely in a press conference.
MP and RJD’s national spokesperson Manoj Jha said that we have also demonstrated, we were in the opposition for a long time, but we did not carry chillies in sacks to protest. Had Gandhi ji been around now, he would have also said that a peaceful protest does not mean carrying chillies in a sack. We are saddened by anyone’s death. After all, the lamp of someone’s house went out. These people (BJP) have kept the death of a person as Peepli Live.
Bihar needs special package
During the press conference, Manoj Jha further said that we have fought fiercely inside and outside the house regarding the concerns of Bihar and Bihar. We have been demanding to give special status to Bihar. Bihar needs its rights. Bihar needs a special package. Any scheme runs with the matching grant from the Centre, but Bihar does not get that. The central government does not pass any scheme which is prepared and sent by the Bihar government. The rights of Bihar are being killed.
Manoj Jha said that the central government is indifferent even regarding the caste census. Until this calculation is done, development will not reach the people sitting till the last row. The Modi government is completely silent on caste enumeration. Regarding the lathi charge at Dak Bungalow Square, he said that it is possible that BJP people may have sent some goons. Responding to the statement of Raghuvar Das, Manoj Jha said that BJP people used to roam with the British, how would they know about Jallianwala Bagh. If Raghubar Das wants to see the Jallianwala Bagh incident or the exploits of General Dyer, then he should go to Manipur.
