Rally in support of India in San Francisco after attack by Khalistan supporters


Khalistan Attack in San Francisco Consulate: Recently, Khalistan supporters tried to set fire to the Indian Consulate in San Francisco, USA. After this incident, a large number of Indian Americans organized a peace rally in front of the Indian Consulate in support of India.

On July 2, a video was posted on Twitter by Khalistan supporters, in which Khalistani supporters were seen setting fire to the Indian Consulate in San Francisco. This was the second incident of violence in San Francisco within a few months.

Ambassador of India Taranjit Singh Sandhu visited
Many Indian Americans in and around San Francisco came out in support of India and participated in a peaceful rally. The protesters involved in the rally termed the work done by the supporters of Khalistan as a terrorist act.

He demanded that legal action be taken against those responsible for the violence. India’s Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Thursday (July 13) visited the consulate and met Indian diplomats and officials at the mission. India has asked its partner countries like Canada, UK and US not to give space to the extremist Khalistani ideology as it is not good for bilateral relations.

Foreign Minister of India gave a statement
India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had said in New Delhi earlier this month that the radical extremist Khalistani ideology is not good for India or its allies such as the US, Canada, Britain and Australia. On March 19 this year, a group of pro-Khalistan protesters attacked and damaged the Indian consulate in San Francisco.

They broke the temporary security barricade put up by the police and put up two Khalistani flags inside the consulate premises. Those flags were soon removed by two consular personnel.
