CM Shivraj performed Bhumi Pujan of Kukshi Micro Irrigation Project, the project is worth lakhs of crores


MP News: The kind of political rivalry that is being seen in the assembly elections to be held in Madhya Pradesh this time, was probably never seen before. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan started the Vikas Parv which started in the state from today with local farmer Mohan Singh Chauhan, his wife Rangili Bai and Shramik Parvat by performing bhoomi-pujan of development works worth 2771 crore 16 lakhs.

CM Shivraj Singh reached Kukshi in Dhar district of the state on Sunday (July 16). Where he worshiped at Meghnath Ghat on the banks of Maa Narmada River. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh has started the 30-day Vikas Parv Yatra. The Chief Minister also sang bhajans along with the local people. At the same time, Bhoomi Pujan was also performed for Kukshi Micro Irrigation Project worth more than 2700 crores, which will provide water from Narmada to 75 thousand hectares of agricultural land in 175 villages of Kukshi and Gandhwani assembly.

‘Work is being done to change people’s lives’
Referring to other schemes including Ladli Bahna Yojana, the Chief Minister said that these are bringing positive changes in the lives of the people of the state. We are moving forward by imbibing the mantra of Prime Minister Modi “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas”. Along with this, the work of changing the lives of the people is also being done by making public welfare, prosperity and development the pillars of governance.

What is Kukshi Micro Irrigation Project

  • The cost of the project is 2 thousand 771 crores.
  • Farmers of 175 villages of Dhar district will get the benefit of irrigation in 75 thousand hectare area.
  • There is provision of irrigation in agricultural land of 96 villages of Kukshi tehsil and 79 villages of Gandhwani tehsil.
  • About 40 thousand hectares will be irrigated in 96 villages of Kukshi tehsil.
  • About 35 hectares will be irrigated in 79 villages of Gandhwani tehsil.
  • The number of farmers benefited from the project is about 1 lakh 25 thousand.
  • Pressurized water will be made available to the farmers’ fields from the underground canal system. Due to which sprinkler/drip irrigation can be done in the fields.
  • On getting irrigation through this method, the farmers will not need to level the field.
