Tomato wholesale price reduced by 29%, when will common people get relief?


Tomatoes Wholesale Rate Down: Due to the rising prices of tomato, it has disappeared from the plate of common people. Due to the heavy rains in the rainy season, its prices are skyrocketing, but now a good news has come in the meantime. A huge decline of 29 per cent has been registered in the wholesale price of tomatoes on Saturday (Tomatoes Wholesale Rate Down).

Along with this, the government is selling tomatoes at Rs 90 per kg at many centers in Delhi-NCR. Sale of cheap tomatoes continues in Delhi even today.

Tomatoes became cheaper by 29 percent in wholesale price

Giving information about the price of tomato, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs has told that today i.e. Sunday, July 16, the wholesale price of tomato has come down from the highest level of Rs 10,750 per quintal to Rs 7,575 per quintal. In such a situation, a huge decline of 29 percent has been recorded in the wholesale price of tomatoes. Let us tell you that in the last few days, the price of tomato had reached Rs 220 per kg in different parts of the country (Tomato Price Hike). In such a situation, the central government and many state governments are taking strict steps to provide relief to the general public.

Cheap tomato being sold in these states

On Friday, the sale of tomatoes started in Delhi-NCR at cheap prices. While tomatoes were being sold at Rs 220 per kg in the retail market, they are being sold at Rs 90 per kg at these government centres. To control the price of tomatoes, the National Cooperative Consumers Federation (NCCF) has started buying tomatoes from some states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra and selling them cheaply. The government has directed agricultural marketing agencies like NAFED and NCCF to purchase tomatoes and sell them cheaply in many states. Apart from Delhi, cheap tomatoes are also being sold in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan. NAFED is also selling tomatoes at subsidized rates in many states including Bihar, West Bengal.

When will the prices of tomatoes come down?

In the monsoon season, apart from tomato, the prices of other vegetables are also increasing. According to experts, after the arrival of the new crop, the common people are expected to get relief from the expensive tomatoes. Along with this, the price of tomatoes will come down soon after the weather is fine.
