The trunk of the tree was cut and brought from a special village Billori in the Danteshwari temple complex of Jagdalpur city. It was worshiped according to its rituals.

Now from the trunk of this tree, which is called “Thurlu Khotla”, tools will be prepared to make a giant 8-wheeled chariot, the main attraction of Bastar Dussehra. Along with this ritual, now different rituals will start in Dussehra festival. The special thing is that more than 12 wonderful rituals are performed in this Dussehra festival, which can be seen only in Bastar in the whole of India. Due to the administration, a committee is formed, whose chairman is the MP of Bastar himself. Dussehra festival, which lasts for the longest days in the country, is celebrated with pomp. This year this festival will be celebrated for 107 days. This festival was started 600 years ago, which continues even today. Every ritual of this festival is celebrated with pomp.

The world famous Bastar Dussehra festival has started on Monday on the day of Hareli Amavasya with Path Jatra Puja Vidhan. This ritual was performed in front of Maa Danteshwari temple. After worshiping the Thurlu Khotla wood, goat and mungri fish were sacrificed and offered as prasad to the mother. According to tradition, villagers of special village Billori in Bastar district reached Jagdalpur on Monday (July 17) with sal wood. In fact, big hammers and other tools for making chariots are prepared from this wood. This ritual was performed in the presence of tool makers, Khata priests, boatmen associated with Dussehra festival, local people and servants.

In fact, this year, the Dussehra festival, which lasts for 105 days, has started with this Path Jatra ritual. This wood is called Thurlu Khotla, from Tuesday onwards tools will be prepared for making chariots. After this Puja Vidhan, the process of bringing wood from the forest will start for the construction of two-storey wooden chariots that run in Bastar Dussehra. Manjhi, the head of the Dussehra committee, told that the world famous Dussehra festival is being celebrated for the last 600 years. All the rituals are performed in this festival. It is seen only in Bastar Dussehra. He told that even in modern times, all the rituals of Dussehra festival in Bastar are completed with complete rules and regulations. Tourists from far off places reach Bastar to see this festival. With the beginning of Dussehra festival, the district administration has also started preparations to celebrate the festival with pomp.
