Delhi School News: Due to the overflow of Yamuna river, the situation in many areas of Delhi is still uncontrollable. In view of these, DOE has extended the school holidays in flood affected areas by two more days. In this condition, the schools of Delhi will remain closed on 17 and 18 July 2023. The Directorate of Education has ordered closure of schools only in areas where the problem is more. These include schools in East, North East, North West – A, Central and South East.

In the order issued in this regard, it has been said that the schools in the flood-affected areas of the national capital, especially those near the Yamuna river, will remain closed on Monday and Tuesday. This is because the flood relief camp can still be run near the Yamuna border.
Classes can be done online
It has been clearly stated in the order of DOE that the order to close the schools in these seven districts should be followed properly and if the head of the school wishes, classes can be conducted in online mode. However, physical classes will remain closed for two more days.
water is getting less
Talking about the water level of Yamuna river, it is decreasing and its level was recorded at 206.14 meters on Sunday. However, water is still filled in many surrounding areas. In the last week, schools were closed almost everywhere and work from home was ordered in offices as well.
What is the condition of these cities
Last week, orders to close schools came in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and Punjab. But today i.e. on July 17, 2023, from Monday, schools in almost all places are reopening. No order has come from anywhere to extend the holidays. Schools will also open in Punjab from today.
