Students are not taking interest in ‘Chief Minister’s merit scholarship’ in Jharkhand, so far only 22% applications


Jharkhand News: Students are not applying for ‘Chief Minister’s merit scholarship’ in Jharkhand. For this, students studying in 8th pass and 9th have to apply. Out of 2.25 lakh students of 8th, only 49 thousand students have applied so far. The date of application was also extended, but its correct result has not come. Students have to apply for this till July 18, while its exam is to be held on August 6. At the same time, before this, the admit cards will start being received from July 28.

On the other hand, students who get more than 55 percent marks in seventh and studying in eighth will be able to apply for this. All the districts have been instructed to get as many applications as possible. Students from ninth to 12th get the amount of Chief Minister’s merit scholarship. In this, 12 thousand rupees are given annually. Students are selected for scholarship on the basis of entrance examination in ninth. After this, on getting more than 60 percent marks in the examination from 10th to 12th, they are given scholarship. If less than 60 percent marks come in any year, then the benefit of this scheme will be stopped for them.

5000 seats earmarked for scholarship
Let us tell you that 5000 seats have been fixed for the scholarship. 400-400 students will be selected from each district. Students selected for Mukhyamantri Medha Scholarship can also enroll in CBSE or ICSE schools after matriculation. Even on this, they will continue to get the benefit of the scheme. If the students selected for this plan study in a residential school, they will be given half the scholarship amount. Along with this, 50 percent scholarship will also be paid to the students who enroll in Akanksha after matriculation.
