After the devastation caused by floods in Delhi, MCD employees engaged in bringing life back on track


Delhi News: After the flood in the capital Delhi, now the water of Yamuna has started receding slowly. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has also stepped up the relief work. In this episode, MCD employees are trying to make the situation normal after the flood with machines. While on one hand the work of draining water and cleaning is going on, on the other hand spraying of medicines and medical facilities are also being ensured. Along with this, the work of removing encroachments from the roads is also being done. In an effort to restore normalcy to public life and traffic, the MCD has closed Hakikat Nagar Dheerpur Main PWD Road, Malka Ganj Delhi University, Priyadarshini Colony, Nigambodh Ghat, Bela Road, Majnu Ka Tila to Shanti Van Road, Moolchand Basti, Pushta Road Madanpur At Khadar, Hafiz Nagar Bhairon Mandir Marg, Anna Nagar, Jaitpur etc., with the help of pumps, super sucker machines etc., the work of removing flood water and silt cleaning has been started.

MCD has also launched enforcement and encroachment removal campaign to smoothly implement flood relief work in Civil Lines area. This campaign is being run on the main road in Jahangirpuri. With this campaign, MCD will be facilitated in cleanliness and removal of flood water. MCD is also removing floating objects from Drain No. 12A, 12A+2, Z Block Nala Okhla Phase 2 drains towards cleanliness and smooth flow of traffic. In this effort, the corporation has removed 30.75 cubic meters of debris from the area and patch work has been done on 313 square meters of roads during the work done so far to normalize the traffic system. On the other hand, in a special effort made to collect garbage from Taimur Nagar drain, 6 trucks have been installed by the corporation, in which 25 metric tons of garbage has been lifted from the drain.

To prevent mosquito-borne diseases, fogging and spraying of insecticides are also being done by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi in flood relief camps. Medical consultation is being made available to the patients by continuously setting up OPD in the relief camps. During this, ORS packets were also distributed by the Public Health Department. Along with this, chlorine bottles have also been distributed to ensure the availability of clean drinking water in the relief camps. Apart from this, it is also ensuring the availability of chlorine in water tankers, so that people can get safe and clean drinking water. At the same time, dead animals are also being picked up from the flood-affected areas by the Veterinary Department, so that there is no risk of spread of diseases. In this sequence, 277 dead animals have been picked up.
