Google Connected Flight Mode Feature: At present, if we travel by flight, then we have to put our smartphone on Airplane mode for some time. Means we have to do this work manually. But now soon we will not need to do all this. Actually, Tech Joint is working on Google ‘Connected Flight Mode’ feature which automatically turns on Airplane Mode.
According to a report by Android Authority, Google has recently filed a patent. The company’s ‘Connected Flight Mode’ feature will automatically turn on Airplane Mode as soon as you board a flight and turn it off as soon as you get back on the ground. The advantage of this feature is that currently if you turn on Airplane Mode, then WiFi, Bluetooth, Radio etc. all stop. But this will not happen in the new feature and you can keep WiFi, Bluetooth on. However, some functions such as background app refresh, updates, etc. will not work during this time.
How will it work?
This feature of Google determines whether you are inside the plane by recognizing many things like your flight history, airport’s WiFi, flight’s air pressure and noise changes. The new feature can also switch on different radios depending on the stage of flight, excluding the cellular network. Note, there is no official information about whether this feature will come in Android phones, tablets and laptops or not. The company files thousands of patents and only a few of these features come in Android phones.
