Indian-American gets life term for ‘killing three teenagers for ringing doorbell’


US Indian Origin Man: A 45-year-old Indian-origin man has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after pleading guilty to murder. The man had intentionally rammed his car into a vehicle, killing three 16-year-olds and seriously injuring three other teenagers. These teenagers harassed her in 2020 by ringing her doorbell.

Anurag Chandra of California was convicted in April on three counts of murder, three counts of attempted murder, among other charges. A July 14 press release from the district attorney’s office said the investigation determined that Chandra intentionally rammed her car into the teen’s vehicle. The fatal accident occurred on the night of January 19, 2020, on Temescal Canyon Road.

On January 19, 2020, in California, 6 teenagers were in a Toyota Prius car, which Chandra rammed his car off the road, resulting in the car crashing into a tree on the east side of the road. Chandra returned home from the accident site without reporting the incident. Daniel Hawkins, Jacob Ivescu and Drake Ruiz (all 16) were killed, while the 18-year-old driver who was driving the vehicle was injured as well as two other boys, aged 13 and 14.
