MP Elections 2023: In the political scan in the election year, we have brought the history of such an assembly of Madhya Pradesh, where the ruling party BJP needs an original BJP candidate. This assembly is the assembly of Sehore, the home district of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The original BJP candidate has not been able to give a fight to the Congress candidate in the assembly elections that have been going on for the last 38 years. In front of Congress MLA candidate, BJP has fielded only those leaders who joined BJP from Congress as BJP candidates.
Please tell that only 4-5 months are left for the assembly elections to be held. Seeing the coming of the elections, now all the political parties have started laying the electoral board. Talking about Sehore, the home district of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, there are four assembly constituencies in Sehore district, including Budni, Ichhawar, Ashta and Sehore. The irony is that despite Sehore district being a BJP bastion, the Sehore Vidhansabha still has a tota of the original BJP. It is not us but the history of 38 years of Sehore assembly itself is telling.
Rebelled against Congress and contested as an independent
In these 38 years, BJP could not get original BJP candidate to defeat Congress candidate in Sehore Assembly. Only the leaders who joined BJP from Congress have been challenging the Congress candidates for these 38 years. At present also Sehore MLA Sudesh Rai rebelled against Congress and contested as an independent, he won and later joined Bharatiya Janata Party. Presently he is the only MLA from BJP.
Last time Sunderlal Patwa became MLA
Let us tell you that only once in the history of 66 years, the original BJP Sunderlal Patwa has been elected as MLA from BJP. After the formation of BJP, in the year 1980, Sunderlal Patwa was elected MLA from Sehore Assembly. Since then only the leaders who joined BJP from Congress have been challenging the Congress candidates and becoming MLAs on behalf of BJP. Talk about the 1990 assembly elections. In 1990, Madanlal Tyagi was elected MLA from BJP. Madanlal Tyagi used to do farmer’s politics in Congress, he joined BJP and became MLA.
Presently Sudesh Rai is the only MLA
After this, Ramesh Saxena, who was in Congress, rebelled and contested as an independent and defeated BJP’s Madanlal Tyagi. After this Saxena also joined BJP. After this, he became MLA from BJP in 1998, 2003 and 2008. In the year 2013, Saxena was defeated by Sudesh Rai who rebelled against the Congress and contested as an independent. After this Sudesh Rai also joined BJP. Fought the 2018 election with BJP ticket from Sudesh Rai. Presently Sudesh Rai is the only MLA.
