Bijapur Blast: An IED blast in the middle of the road on the Somanpalli road in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-affected Bijapur district has created panic. An 8 feet deep pit has been created in the road due to the blast. It is being speculated that the Naxalites had used a large amount of gunpowder in the IED. The passers-by narrowly survived the blast. The news of relief was that at the time of the blast, no passer-by was present in the impact area.

It is being told that the bomb blast took place without command due to command wire spark amidst torrential rains in Bastar division. At present, immediately after getting the information, a team of jawans has left for the spot and is ascertaining the cause of the sudden blast. At the same time, such a big pit in the road is also being investigated from the other side.

According to the information received from Farsegarh police station of the district, a tremendous blast took place on the road near Somanpalli on the way from Naimed to Kutru from Bijapur district headquarters on Wednesday morning. It is a matter of pride that no passer-by was passing through that road during this blast. In such a situation, a major accident was averted. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the bomb blast took place without command due to command wire spark due to rain.

The Naxalites had already planted a bomb on this road. However, immediately after getting the information, a team of police personnel has left and is trying to find out how the blast happened or how the pothole happened in the road. Bijapur ASP Chandrakant Gavarna told that there was no information about police personnel passing through this road. In such a situation, this blast has not been done by Naxalites, but there is a possibility of blasting from Wirespark itself. At present, the team of police and jawans reached from Farsegarh police station is investigating it.
