A recent report tells that this time the country’s economy has suffered a loss of Rs 10 to 15 thousand crores due to floods.

In the Ecowrap report of the country’s largest bank SBI, figures have been given to estimate the loss. According to the report of the State Bank of India, the country has suffered an economic loss of Rs 10,000 crore to Rs 15,000 crore due to the floods. It has been accepted in the report that the increase in the loss of life and property due to natural causes over time is a matter of concern. Before the flood, Biparjoy storm had also caused a lot of economic loss.
Number of natural disasters increased
According to the SBI report, after America and China, India is suffering the most due to natural calamities. After 1990, India has faced many natural calamities. According to the report, in the 100 years between 1900 and 2000, the number of natural disasters in India was 402, while during 2001 to 2022, their number was 361 in just 21 years.
Flood caused maximum devastation
SBI has included drought, landslide, storm and earthquake in addition to flood in natural calamities. According to the report, the maximum devastation is caused by floods. Floods alone account for 41 per cent of the total natural calamities. After the flood is the place of the storm. SBI believes that lack of insurance is one of the major reasons for loss due to natural calamities in India.
So much damage to Himachal alone
Let us tell you that hilly states like Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh and the national capital Delhi are facing more losses in this year’s rains. Earlier, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu had claimed that his state alone had suffered a loss of about Rs 8,000 crore due to heavy rains since last few weeks.
