Relatives of Kanwariyas who died in Meerut accident lodged report, case against unknown electrician


Meerut Kanwar Accident Update: The relatives of the kanwars who lost their lives in the Meerut Kanwar accident have filed a case against the unknown electrician. Relatives say that a painful accident happened due to loose wires of 11 thousand KV electricity. On the complaint of the relatives, the police have registered a case under section 304A. Please tell that on July 15, the DJ of the kanwars carrying the kanwar collided with the 11,000 KV high tension line in Rali Chauhan village. Due to electrocution in DJ, six Kanwariyas died and 15 were scorched.

Update of Kanwar accident in Meerut

The scorched Kanwaris were admitted to the hospital for treatment. The deceased were identified as 40-year-old Mahendra Saini, 45-year-old Lakshmi Saini, 18-year-old Manish Saini, 15-year-old Prashant, 9-year-old Lakshya and 15-year-old Himanshu Saini. After the accident, there was hue and cry on the spot. The villagers had blocked the road in protest. After the information, the administration team reached the spot. The team carried out rescue and relief work. The injured were sent to the hospital for treatment with the help of an ambulance. It was told that a group of Shiva devotees was bringing Ganges water from Haridwar.

Electricity department got clean chit

On behalf of the administration, the committee constituted to investigate the accident was instructed to submit the report within 48 hours. Chaitra V, Managing Director of Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, had said on the basis of the preliminary investigation report that no electricity worker-officer was found responsible for the accident in the investigation. He had given a clean chit to the electricity department. The villagers blamed the JE of the electricity department for the death of the kanwariyas.

The villagers alleged that the JE, ignoring the matter of shutdown, restarted the electricity. A painful accident happened when the DJ of the kanwariyas came in contact with the 11,000 KV line. The MD of PVVNL said that the height of Kanwar, who was the victim of the road accident, was 22 feet. He had told that the order from the government to keep a 12 feet high kanwar was ignored. On the allegation of the villagers, Chaitra V had clarified that no oral or written application was received for the shutdown. That’s why the electricity department cannot be held responsible.
