RRTS Corridor: NCRTC starts work on laying track in tunnel for Delhi Meerut RapidX


RRTS Corridor: The work of Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) corridor on Delhi Ghaziabad Meerut is going on fast. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has started the work of laying tracks in the underground tunnels of the corridors falling in the capital Delhi. Completing the work from Anand Vihar Tunnel, now this work will be extended towards New Ashok Nagar.

Tunnel work completed between Anand Vihar and New Ashok Nagar

It is noteworthy that to complete the work of Delhi-Meerut RapidX project at the earliest, work is being done on both up and down platforms. The work of laying track is going on at Anand Vihar station and there is a plan to extend it further till New Ashok Nagar. Earlier, NRCTC has recently completed the work of laying tunnel between Anand Vihar to New Ashok Nagar.

From Anand Vihar to New Ashok Nagar elevated station, the track work has been completed in the 2 km elevated portion of the tunnel ramp at Khichdipur. At the same time, the work of laying track from New Ashok Nagar station to Khichdipur ramp is being done at a fast pace. The work of connecting New Ashok Nagar to Khichdipur ramp has already been completed.

Ongoing construction work of these stations

The construction work of Sarai Kale Khan, New Ashok Nagar and Anand Vihar RapidX stations in Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor has reached a different stage. Platform work is going on in all these stations.

The project will be ready by 2025

NRCTC wants to complete the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor by 2025. It is working day and night to achieve its goal. It is worth noting that the work of Sahibabad-Duhai section of this corridor has been completed. In such a situation, preparations are going on for its inauguration. Apart from this, there is a target to complete the work of Delhi section as well. The project is likely to be completed in the next one year, after which the trial run will start on it from the end of 2024 and the target is to open RapidX to the general public from June 2025. The total length of this project is 82 km, out of which 14 km will fall in Delhi and 68 km in Uttar Pradesh.
