Pawan Kalyan accused Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy of supporting the accused. The Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday (July 20) issued a government order to initiate legal action against Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan in connection with his objectionable remarks. It has been alleged that Pawan Kalyan had made objectionable remarks on ward and village volunteers at a public meeting in Eluru on 9th July.
What did Pawan Kalyan say on the action of Andhra government?
According to news agency ANI, on Thursday (July 20) itself, Pawan Kalyan said, “We have received a government order, which says that Pawan Kalyan should be prosecuted… I will tell you (YS Jagan Mohan Reddy) I have been saying that if you arrest me, nothing can happen. I am ready to go to jail…”
He further said, “How can the courts protect Jagan? He is supporting the accused. I didn’t blame the volunteers and I only blamed the system. Personal data is important for every single person. I have spoken to Home Minister Amit Shah on the issue of personal data theft.
What was said in the government order against Pawan Kalyan?
The government order alleged that Pawan Kalyan had used defamatory, derogatory and malicious statements against the government and the volunteer system during his Varahi Yatra. It said that to suggest that 29,000 women disappeared because of volunteers and to accuse them of being part of data theft is highly objectionable.
The government order said that Pawan Kalyan had alleged that mainly single women were being targeted. Information is being collected in the name of welfare schemes and it is sent to anti-social elements for human trafficking. Pawan Kalyan’s comments were mentioned in detail in the government order.
With this, it was said in the order that the government, after carefully examining the matter and using the powers conferred under Section 199 (4) (b) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, has approved the concerned public prosecutor to file a complaint before the competent court against a person named Pawan Kalyan.
