Mewar’s 17 reserved seats, BJP-Congress on equal footing, challenge to new party of tribal society

Rajasthan Elections 2023: Assembly elections are going to be held in Rajasthan this year. BJP and Congress are groping for one assembly seat each and wooing the voters there. The most important in this is the tribal area of Udaipur division which has the power to form and break the government. Now a new party has been announced here. This party Adivasi Samaj Sangathan is preparing to field its candidates on 17 reserved seats out of 28 seats in the new party Bharatiya Adivasi Party Udaipur division. Now the challenge for the Bharatiya Adivasi Party is to defeat the BJP-Congress leaders sitting here. On the other hand, this party is a matter of concern for the BJP-Congress.

Udaipur division consists of Udaipur, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh, Banswara, Dungarpur districts. There are 28 assembly seats in all of this. Out of this, 16 belong to Scheduled Tribe and 1 to Scheduled Caste. In this, BJP has 7 of these MLAs and Congress has 6, 1 Independent and 2 BTP MLAs. 1 Independent MLA is supported by Congress. In such a situation, the supremacy of BJP and Congress on the reserved seats of Mewar is equal. But BTP is far behind.

This is the challenge for the tribal party
If seen in Mewar, BJP has been winning once and Congress once. For example, in Rajasthan itself, there is a change in elections. But here there are some seats which have been dominated by veteran leaders of both the parties for two to three years. Like Udaipur Rural Assembly where BJP’s Phool Singh Meena is MLA for two terms, Congress government has minister Mahendrajit Singh Malviya and other such veteran leaders who have made inroads in their area. His supremacy is not only in his seat, but also in other nearby seats. In such a situation, it will be a challenge for the Bharatiya Adivasi Party, which is not being formed under the leadership of the tribal society, to make a dent here.

Enthusiasm is increasing due to big victory in student union elections
BTP currently has two MLAs and these MLAs have severed ties with the party. Both of them are with the Indian Tribal Party being formed from the tribal society. This will be the first assembly election of the Indian Tribal Party. In such a situation, to increase the enthusiasm of the party in this election, the student union elections held a few months ago are working. In this, the Bhil Pradesh Vidyarthi Morcha, the youth wing of the tribal society, badly caught NSUI and ABVP, winning 18 colleges. Due to such results, it is expected that the tribal youth group is joining them. This is the plus point of this party.
