Vande Bharat Train Fare: Traveling in Vande Bharat trains may become even cheaper in the coming days. In the coming days, the fare of some routes of Vande Bharat trains can be reduced by up to 10 percent. Earlier, Indian Railways had reduced the fare of AC chair car and executive class of Vande Bharat trains by 25 percent.
New Vande Bharat trains are being run continuously in different routes. But the concern of the Railways is about the fact that even half of the seats are not being filled. This is the reason that there is a possibility of another 10 percent reduction in the fare of Vande Bharat trains. Different zones of Indian Railways are exploring the possibilities of reduction in fares. Railways believe that it is better to give passengers an opportunity to travel in these trains cheaply than having vacant seats.
Indian Railways is working on a plan to run Vande Bharat trains from February 2024 next year. But the low-occupancy of the existing Vande Bharat trains is being seen. For example, the Indore-Bhopal Vande Bharat has 29 percent occupancy in the month of June and 21 percent in the return route. Means more than 70 percent seats remained vacant.
The average occupancy of Nagpur-Bilaspur was 55 per cent and that of Bhopal-Jabalpur Vande Bharat train was only 32 per cent. However, the occupancy of the Kasargod-Trivandrum Vande Bharat train has been 183 percent. While the return route saw an average occupancy of 176 per cent. Varanasi-Delhi has seen an average occupancy of 128 per cent, while the return journey has an occupancy of 124 per cent.
For these reasons, the fare of Vande Bharat trains was reduced by up to 25 percent in the month of July itself. Apart from other AC trains, trains with Anubhuti Vistadome coaches were also included in this deduction.
