Insult of Quran again in Sweden, Muslim countries furious, planning for big protest


Baghdad Sweden Protest: After the burning of the Holy Quran in Sweden, the ruckus does not seem to subside. On Friday, Muslim majority countries once again expressed their displeasure over this incident. In some places, Muslims also demonstrated after the prayers. Earlier on Thursday, Sweden’s embassy in Iraq was set on fire. Not only this, Iraq has expelled the ambassador of Sweden from the country and has also called back its diplomats.

In the midst of all this, Sweden gave permission to burn the Quran again, on which the Islamic countries were infuriated. Condemning Sweden’s decision, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), an organization of Muslim countries, has said that the Swedish authorities have continued to give permission despite the dangerous consequences of such a heinous act.

Iran, Iraq and Lebanon have planned mass demonstrations after Swedish police gave permission to burn the Koran. Please tell that for the second time in Sweden, the Quran was insulted on Thursday, when the same person kicked the Quran and destroyed it. A few hours before this incident, protesters ransacked the Swedish embassy in Baghdad. Hundreds of protesters then set the Swedish embassy on fire.

Iraq’s Prime Minister took action

Not only this, Iraq’s Prime Minister Shia al-Sudani ordered the expulsion of Sweden’s ambassador from the country. Along with this, the Iraqi embassy in Sweden was also called back. On the other hand, reacting to Iran’s action, Sweden has announced to close its embassy in Iraq indefinitely.

Plans for protest are being made again

But in the midst of all this, the anger of the people is not taking the name of calming down. Angry people have planned another protest in Baghdad on Friday. Along with this, protesters have planned to take to the streets in neighboring Iran as well. Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has written a letter to the UN Secretary-General on the desecration of the Quran and summoned the Swedish ambassador.

Significantly, on the day of Bakrid last month, a young man named Salwan Momika had set a copy of the Quran on fire in front of the biggest mosque in Sweden’s capital Stockholm. On which there was a ruckus.
