In research, researchers found that playing crosswords and chess reduces the risk of dementia in the elderly. Research found that by doing this, the risk of dementia can be reduced by 11%. Researchers researched 10318 Australians over the age of 70, in which they found that mental activities such as making journals, taking education classes, playing games such as crosswords and chess can reduce the risk of dementia by 9 to 11 percent. Playing chess or crossword on computer also increases the chances of reducing this disease.

According to the researchers, not only by playing games but also by making paintings or knitting, the risk of dementia in the elderly starts to decrease significantly.
