Gautam Adani Company: Gautam Adani’s company Adani Wilmar has filed a complaint against a company. The company alleges that fake products are being sold in the name of Fortune Oil brand, in which the name of this company has appeared. In such a situation, Adani Wilmar has filed a police complaint in Gautam Buddha Nagar. Adani Wilmar sells edible oil under the brand name Fortune in many states of India.
The edible oil major company has detected this during regular market survey. In one of its statements, the company said that it has registered an FIR through the agency against the B2B platform for making and selling counterfeit products. The FIR has been registered at Badalpur police station in Gautam Budh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh. Adani Wilmar said that the investigating officers raided the warehouse of the business to business platform, in which counterfeit products in the name of Fortune Oil of Adani Wilmar were seized.

A large quantity of Fortune brand oil has been found during the raid by the officials. The seized products include 126 pet bottles of Fortune Kachi Ghani Mustard Oil (1 Ltr Pack) without caps, 37 spurious Fortune Refined Soybean Oil in 1 Ltr pouch and 16 pet bottles of Fortune Mustard Oil in 1 Ltr Pack. An Adani Wilmar spokesperson said that it is concerned about the spurious products spreading in the market and the health of consumers. That’s why a complaint has been lodged.

The company spokesperson said that taking the issue of counterfeit products seriously, the company is cooperating with the authorities to quickly identify the sources of counterfeit goods and take action against such traders. According to the statement, the company has started investigation of the reported product. In the investigation of fake brands, things like batch code details, fake QR codes and packaging etc. are being looked at.
Reduction in the prices of edible oil
Adani Wilmar on Wednesday said its first quarter sales declined by 15 per cent due to a sharp fall in edible oil prices and strong demand for its edible products. The company said that this decline is due to low consumer demand, short supply in some regions and strong production of oilseeds, due to which edible oil prices have declined compared to last year.
