High alert has been declared in the area of ​​40 kilometers of Ambala and Panipat. At the same time, the water of Hathinikund barrage has again reached above the danger mark. Due to the opening of all the gates of the barrage, the danger of flood has started receding.

At the same time, high alert has also been declared in 40 villages adjacent to Yamuna. People have been instructed not to go near Yamuna river. This water can reach Delhi in 72 hours and then increase the difficulty there. The water of the Markanda river has also reached up to seven feet. The Tangri river is also seen to be in spate. Due to the water coming from the mountains, the Ghaggar river can also come in spate. Apart from this, the water level of Ghaggar river has also increased in Sirsa. Due to breach of embankment at Bajekan, Chamal, Mallewala, only water is visible in the fields. At the same time, the danger of flood remains in Fatehabad city as well.

Water filled in low-lying areas after heavy rains, alert in 11 districts
Heavy rains in many parts of Punjab and Haryana on Saturday led to water-logging in the low-lying areas of both the states. Officials are keeping an eye on the rising water level in Bhakra Dam due to heavy rains. The maximum storage capacity of the Bhakra Nangal Dam is 1,680 feet, and at present it has reached 1,652 feet. In Nangal area of ​​Punjab’s Rupnagar district, the authorities have asked people to be alert in view of the rising water in the dam. Saturday’s rains threw normal life out of gear in Hoshiarpur and many areas were submerged. On the other hand, after an assessment made by Gurdaspur Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Agarwal and Border Security Force (BSF) officials, the pilgrimage to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan through the Kartarpur Corridor has been suspended for the next two days due to rain. After heavy rains, Sutlej, Ravi, Beas along with Ghaggar and Ujj rivers of Punjab are in spate. Because of which water has entered many villages adjacent to them. Alert has been declared in 11 districts.

Where did it rain
According to a report by the Meteorological Department, Ambala in Haryana received 13 mm of rain on Saturday, while Narnaul received 6 mm, Karnal 46 mm, Panchkula 19 mm and Yamunanagar 18.5 mm. At the same time, Amritsar in Punjab received 85 mm of rain, while Ferozepur received 74 mm, Jalandhar 54.5 mm, Moga 45.5 mm, Faridkot 41.5, SBS Nagar eight mm and Mohali four mm.
