Navjot Singh Sidhu came out in support of Kejriwal amidst rebellion of Punjab Congress


Punjab News: The Aam Aadmi Party is strongly opposing the ordinance brought by the central government amid the ongoing deadlock between the Lieutenant Governor (LG) and the AAP government over the powers of the Delhi government. AAP has also got the support of Congress on the Delhi Ordinance. However, the Punjab Congress is strongly against going with the Aam Aadmi Party. Meanwhile, Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has gone against the opinion of the party and supported the Aam Aadmi Party on the Delhi Ordinance.

During the conversation with the media, Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu showed his consent regarding the stand of the Congress on the Delhi Ordinance. He said that the governor and lieutenant governor cannot make the elected representatives their puppets. The democratic power of this country cannot be made rose by the governor and lieutenant governor. LG cannot give instructions to any elected government. The Lieutenant Governor cannot enslave the elected representatives and cannot impose his nominated force. If this government remains, then following Rahul Gandhi, everyone is saying that this country will not exist, this country’s democracy will not exist.

Raghav Chadha termed it inappropriate to present the ordinance in Rajya Sabha
Apart from this, AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has written a letter to Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar. In this, Raghav Chadha said that this ordinance takes away its constitutional right from the elected government. This is illegitimate, unfair and unacceptable.

Along with this, Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha also gave three reasons for this ordinance being unconstitutional. In which he told the first reason that the ordinance of the Center is against the decision of the Supreme Court. Also, secondly, this ordinance flouts Article 239AA of the Constitution. He told the third reason that a case regarding this ordinance is still under consideration in the Supreme Court. The issue has been referred to the constitution bench for consideration. AAP MP Raghav Chadha said that the ordinance has been challenged in the Supreme Court, which by its order dated 20 July 2023 has referred the question to the Constitution Bench.
