Maharashtra Politics: Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis has retaliated by rejecting the claims of opposition leaders to change the CM. Devendra Fadnavis said on Monday (July 24) that nowadays many senior leaders are making various speculations. There is no merit in those speculations. There will be no change in the post of Chief Minister.

Devendra Fadnavis further said, “There is no reason to change the Chief Minister. Eknath Shinde will remain the Chief Minister. My party is the largest party in Mahayuti. Being the leader of the largest party, I am saying that our Chief Minister Eknath Shinde Will remain.”

What did Prithviraj Chavan say?

In fact, senior Maharashtra Congress leader and former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan has said that after August 10, Ajit Pawar will become the Chief Minister of the state. I cannot disclose my sources. Prithviraj Chavan told news agency ANI that I had talked about it long back, even immediately after the split in NCP.

He said that the anti-defection decision against the Eknath Shinde faction would be given around August 10. They cannot escape disqualification in any way as they have clearly violated the rules. That’s why the post of CM will be vacant. CM has also met PM Modi along with his family. After this meeting, his departure is certain.

Opposition leaders made this claim

Earlier, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut had also claimed that Eknath Shinde would soon be removed from the post of Chief Minister. Opposition leaders have been making such claims ever since NCP leader Ajit Pawar rebelled and extended support to the BJP-Shiv Sena government in Maharashtra.

Ajit Pawar had joined NDA

Ajit Pawar joined the NDA earlier this month along with several NCP MLAs. He was sworn in as the Deputy CM in the Government of Maharashtra. While eight other NCP MLAs took oath as ministers along with him.

What did Eknath Shinde say?

After this, news of displeasure in the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) started surfacing. However, both BJP and Shiv Sena rejected these reports and said that there is no displeasure over anything. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had said that the opposition does not have any issue, that is why such statements are being made. With the arrival of Ajit Pawar, the government has got more strength.
