The ship was carrying people across a bay to Muna Island, about 200 km (124 miles) south of Kendri, the capital of Southeast Sulawesi province. “All the victims have been identified and handed over to their families, while the survivors are now being treated in local hospitals,” said Muhammad Arafa, a member of the local branch of the rescue agency in Indonesia. Photos shared by the rescue agency showed the bodies of the victims covered with cloth on the floor of a local hospital.
