UP News: The Samajwadi Party is busy preparing for Mission 2024 and in the meantime the SP has suffered a major setback in Varanasi. Shalini Yadav, who contested the Lok Sabha elections against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the year 2019, has left SP and joined BJP. Shalini Yadav joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday in the presence of UP BJP President Bhupendra Chaudhary, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya and Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak in Lucknow. Shalini Yadav joining BJP is a big blow to SP.

Election was fought against PM Modi

of the year 2019 Lok Sabha Elections Shalini Yadav became PM from Varanasi Lok Sabha seat. Narendra Modi contested against. SP had fielded Yadav in Purvanchal keeping in mind the Yadav vote bank and Shalini Yadav stood second in this election. PM Modi got more than 6 lakh votes and won the Varanasi seat again. On the other hand, in the account of Shalini Yadav, around 2 lakh votes were received in this election. While Akhilesh Yadav is engaged in opposition unity, Shalini Yadav has given a big blow to the SP chief by joining BJP.

Know who is Shalini Yadav

Shalini Yadav is the daughter-in-law of veteran Congress leader and Union Minister Shyam Lal Yadav’s son. She also contested the mayoral election from Varanasi in the year 2017, but in this election also she came second. After this she joined SP from Congress in the year 2019. Shalini has inherited politics from her father-in-law. After doing BA Honors from BHU, Shalini did Diploma in Fashion Designing and she is currently active in politics.
