Fierce ruckus after throwing false apple on Kanwar Yatra in Pilibhit, two accused in custody


Pilibhit News: During the Kavad Yatra (Kanwar Yatra 2023) in Pilibhit, UP, there has been an allegation of trying to spoil the atmosphere. A group of Kanwariyas on Monday alleged that when they were passing through Pilibhit’s Mandi Samiti area, members of the other community threw fake apples at them. After which the Kanwariyas created a ruckus there and started protesting. The police, who reached the information, somehow pacified the whole matter and took both the accused who threw the apple into custody.

The Kanwariyas said that when these people were traveling in their groups, members of another community in Pilibhit Mandi Committee threw fake apples at them, trying to spoil the atmosphere of the Yatra. Angered by throwing the apple, the Kanwariyas started protesting there and created a ruckus. He demanded the arrest of both the accused who threw the apple.

The police somehow pacified the matter

Soon after getting the information about the incident, Sungadhi Kotwali police reached the spot and pacified the protesters. Jagat Singh, station in-charge of Sungarhi, said that although both the accused claimed that they had thrown rotten apples on the ground. The police officer said that both the accused have been taken into custody and have been fined for allegedly disturbing the peace.

Let us tell you that earlier on Sunday, there was a ruckus in Bareilly during the Kanwar Yatra after people from other communities threw mud and stones at the yatra. After this, stone pelting started from both the sides, after which the police administration also reached the spot. During this, the ruckus continued for about 4 hours. The protesters took out their anger on the police. During the stone pelting, the protesters vandalized two vehicles including Inspector Baradari’s vehicle.
