Before anyone could understand anything, the fire quickly spread to the maternity ward and NICU ward. 7 newborns were kept in the NICU ward, and Vanita Jackup, posted as a staff nurse at that time, saved the lives of all 7 newborns with her understanding and with the help of fire fighting. During this, two ward boys also helped him.

According to the information received from the District Hospital Superintendent, at around 3 am on Tuesday, information was received that a sudden fire broke out in the maternity ward of the hospital and this fire is rapidly spreading to other wards as well. During this, Staff Nurse Vanita Jackup, Ward Boy and Aaya were on duty in night duty. The staff nurse reached the NICU ward with a fire extinguisher and controlled the fire in the ward and seven newborns were taken out safely with the help of the ward boy.

All the 22 women admitted in the maternity ward were taken out safely one by one. The hospital superintendent told that the reasons for the fire in the ward are being ascertained. Initial investigation has found that the fire started due to short circuit and the fire spread rapidly, with the understanding of the staff nurse, the newborns were taken out of the NICU ward at the right time, which averted a major accident. He told that the work of repairing the maternity ward was started again in the morning. There has been no casualty in the incident.
